The River Arun is an awesome river that snakes its way inland through the stunning West Sussex countryside. It is a fantastic river to launch your paddleboard for an amazing adventure, there are so many twists and turns and hidden surprises that exploring the river is never boring. The River Arun demands respect as it is the second fastest river in England, with flows as high as 4-6 knots (7.4-11.1Kms per hour). Tidal ranges here are huge and any paddle should be made with tide times in mind. Starting at the harbour mouth of Littlehampton the river bends and turns its way towards historic Arundel, offering amazing views from the water of Arundel castle, a popular refreshment stop here is the Black Rabbit pub. The river continues on towards Amberley and another great place to refuel are the Riverside Tea Rooms, located next to Houghton Bridge. Greatham bridge is next before the river takes us up to Swan Bridge at Pulborough, refreshments here can be obtained from The Corn Store. The amazing Stopham Bridge is our last bridge to glide under before the River continues up as far as Pallingham Quay. If you are wanting to progress your paddle board skills, our river trips offer a great introduction to moving water. Our trips mainly take place near Pulborough on the River Arun which provides a less tidal and tranquil, scenic experience and for those who wish to we can incorporate a stop at the White Hart pub.
